Hi all,
No. I was not on that boat that left the Boynton Inlet today. I was being loyal to my captain that lives in Miami-Dade:)

On migration My motto: When you have meager migration, you've got to use imagination.
Yes, in the past month or so I raved about an upcoming spring migration that has yet to be fully materialized. I am not sitting on my couch and waiting for it. I am actively searching but the results are not quite there. Numbers are low on anything that is truly exciting. It was super-nice to have Swainson's Warbler for about two weeks when all of a sudden that window was slammed shut real hard and I don't see or hear reports of them at all.

I have to say that about a month ago we had a mini Fall out with .Prairie Warblers. That must have been the highlight on volume of warblers. Everything else is in the single digits - average of 1-3 of the most common species (Black and white, Black-throated Blue, American Redstart, Pine Warblers, Cape May Warblers, etc). One Louisiana a few weeks ago at Spanish River.

Since migration has been so lackluster thus far I have found myself taking shots of nature scenes (some sunrises, sunsets, and twilights have been the highlights). An encounter with a Water Moccasin is included too as well as some breeding display on some species as well.

Also, a couple of days ago I took myself to Du Puis Wildlife and Environmental Area to see what was brewing up there. A nice assortment of Florida residents that nest there.
Highlights were: ALL woodpeckers (Red-cockaded, Red-headed, Red-bellied, Downy, N.Flicker, and Pileated were present. Someone must have forgotten to invite the only missing guest - Hairy Woodpecker. Lots of Great Crested Flycatchers, two Carolina Wrens, Pine warblers, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Swallow-tailed Kites, Wild Turkey, and while looking for a Bachman's Sparrow, a Chipping Sparrow appeared - thought that they'd be gone by now. I filed an ebird report.

While I am going to bed in an hour or so, I'll be dreaming of migration, Fall outs, and rarities near me. I have more chances of being successful at my dream stages than while I am awake at this point because I know I have to be a realist sometimes. Gloom and doom will eventually fade away hopefully for a few weeks until June comes around.

Left some other visual treats as well - see it for yourself.
Marcello

P.S I think that TOE was using reverse psychology on his doom and gloom theories.
