Good evening,
Roberto Torres and Robin Diaz both sent me a photo of the (?) starling at Brickell Key, apparently taken 8 June 2014, by Lorena Siqueira.
It's a cell-phone image, rather low-res, but is clearly of an Onythognathus species, and represents a new verifiable bird for Florida. Based on the single image I saw, plus images posted to Google, I lean toward Red-winged Starling (O. morio) from the apparent rufous tips to the primaries, which seem (via Google) to be dark brown or blackish in Tristram's Starling (O. trsitramii).
If anybody has other images of the bird, I'd be delighted to see them.
Thanks.
Best regards,
Bill Pranty
