While filming cardinals and red-bellied woodpeckers at Fairchild Tropical Gardens, 5 blue and yellow (whatvever happened to blue and gold) macaws landed in a distant tree, then proceeded to a royal palm right over my head! It was 10:30 AM. When they finally left, the flock contained at least 10 birds. They must be breeding successfully somewhere. By the way, Fairchild is now open at 7:30 AM on weekends when there is no sale or festival.
