I decided to stick close to home today by birding the Hainlin Mill "Sparrow" Drive on SW 216th St (accessed via the East Everglades entrance to Everglades National Park).
Surprisingly, all the sparrows are still around in small numbers: Clay-colored (2), Grasshopper (4), Lincoln's (3), Swamp (7), and White-crowned Sparrow. Sparrows seem to linger in this area until mid-April before heading to their breeding sites to the north.
I also had a Brown-crested Flycatcher, possibly the same one reported by Michael Vasi, near the fishing pond about 0.25 miles south of the Richmond Drive/SW 237th Ave intersection.
