Hi all,
Not too long ago you must have heard me saying that Swainson's Warbler was kind of difficult given the narrow window that they pass through Palm Beach and that they can be tough to spot if you're not attentive. . Now that was the past. I have seen several of them throughout the past week or so. Mostly at Spanish River and Lantana Preserve.

Spanish River Park is a good location to find a pair of Spot-breasted Orioles which I have been seeing both a few times this week. In the same area I had a male Baltimore Oriole with its gorgeous orange and black colors. This bird had a behavior that I could not figure it out. It kept "playing" with a stick for a couple of minutes - not likely to be nesting material. I am not sure if it had its own technique of shaking and extracting bugs out of it or what. Migration has brought a few interesting birds but we are waiting for the next batch of warblers. The first batch has come and they seem to have moved on north.

The Wood Thrush seen a few times at the Lantana Preserve has not been spotted for about a week now. What I want to know is who's gonna replace the Wood Thrush since it replaced the La Sagra's Flycatcher....this is the aviary mystery to hopefully be revealed sometime soon.

Best,
Marcello
