Sorry for the late post. I had an internet problem that my friend, Art in the Philippines, just helped me restore. Thanks go out to all who already posted information regarding the walk.

I had the pleasure of leading a bird walk for 12 participants at A.D. Barnes Park for the Native Plant Society and Tropical Audubon on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Cooler climes and overcast skies were compliments of the trailing edge of a cool front that passed through out of the northwest. It was a comfortable 68 degrees, when we started at 8:00 a.m. and dropped to 64 degrees by 10:00 a.m.

Very few migrants came in with the front, much to our disappointment, but we located a couple of mixed flocks, with the best feeding in a fruiting Strangler Fig east of the paved bath and just north of Homeless Hammock . Seven warbler species were seen feeding, including Northern Parula, Black-throated Green, Black-throated Blue, Prairie, Palm, Black-and-white and American Redstart. Mixed in were Eurasian Collared-Dove, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Blue-headed Vireo, and female Indigo and Painted Buntings.

Other notable species seen in the park were Osprey, a pair of Cooper s Hawks, White-crowned Pigeon along with male and female Purple Martins.

A total of 30 species were seen in three hours and a good time was had by all. Life is good enjoying a Narwhal Imperial Stout, as our celebratory libation, a tasty Russian Imperial Stout style beer brewed by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company, weighing in at a healthy 12.8 ABV not for the faint of heart
