Went to Research Rd early this morning (predawn) and had a Whip-poor-will sitting on the roadside, before flying off. A Great Horned Owl was calling repeatedly in the pineland south of Gate 2A, close to the new scrape. After sunup, there were large numbers of American Robins in the pinelands and Brazilian Pepper adjacent to the scrape. As I was leaving and close to the T intersection there was a Brown-crested Flycatcher, which was calling repeatedly.
There were 3 Western Kingbirds on the wires between Aerojet Rd and the C111 structure. No pipits were seen at the fields at 217 & 9336 (or anywhere else that I looked, for that matter).
