Perhaps it was a severe (chestnut front) macaw. There is a large flock (+80)in N Miami. The severe's are smaller than the scarlets or greenwings that also are green and red. If it was a scarlet or green wing it is probably some one's escaped pet. There was a scarlet that flew around with the wild blue and yellows but that particular macaw has not been sighted in the last 5 years. A solitary macaw is most likely an escaped pet.
