Day 4 of the Great Miami Winter Bird Count (a.k.a. GBBC) was very successful this morning. Miriam Avello, Nico Salino and I scoured all of Virginia Key and encountered 12 warbler species, including our assigned Wilson's Warbler. She was at the north end of Sewage Road, in a tangle of Schinus. Unexpected finds: 2 Piping Plovers on Virginia Key Beach, Savannah Sparrow and an immature Bonaparte's Gull that Nico spotted for his life bird.

This was great fun during the past 4 days!
