Miriam Avello, Nico Salino and I covered Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP on Day 2 of the Great Miami Winter Bird Count. While we didn't find rare birds, we had a good, solid day. Scattered groups of Northern Parulas (total of 19) showed a definite sign of migration.

We came across several Cuban Crescent Butterflies nectaring on the Bidens. Along with Rangel's Virginia Key crescents last month and ones in Cape Florida last fall, the butterflies today seem to indicate a comeback of the species.
