While leading the monthly bird walk at Deering Estate this morning I heard the familiar call of a La Sagra's Flycatcher. The bird never showed itself but I assume it's the same one that was heard periodically as people staked out the Key West Quail-Dove from late December to early January. Unfortunately it is in the restricted area of the estate and extremely unreliable. The bird continued to call as it moved west further into the hammock but gave the impression to be following Cutler Creek towards the Chinese Bridge which is on the public paved path off 72nd avenue.
