Not sure what neighborhood you live in but Bald Eagles hang out around the Banyan Trails subdivision in Coconut Creek a good bit. This is just northwest of the Pompano Beach landfill and a lot of times the eagles can be seen mixed in with the vultures that ride the thermals around the area. I've been seeing an adult and a second year bird. Before Hurricane Wilma there used to be a stand of tall trees on the south side of the lake at the Lyons Rd entrance to Banyan Trails (just north of Wiles Rd) and I used to see eagles perched in the trees almost daily. Since Wilma I've only seen them soaring around. They also hang out around the lakes just east of the landfill and occasionally perch on the power poles off Green Rd just east of Powerline Rd.
