I was at Coe Friday morning and found the nest but never saw an adult Great Horned Owl. The nest is in the second mahogany tree in the middle of the parking lot, near the top of the tree. I first checked around 8:30 a.m. and could just make out the shape of a chick in the nest. Later, on my way out (around 11:30 a.m.) I checked again and saw two big white fluffy chicks sitting up in the nest! Still did not see an adult.
