Although the breeze seemed to keep birds down, and quiet overall, a walk at the C357 produced Clay-colored, Lincoln's, Swamp, and Savannah Sparrows, singing Eastern Towhee, plus Indigo Buntings, including one individual that looked to be in close-to breeding plumage. The entire list will be posted to eBird.
While taking a quick look at the canal, Elsa drove by and stopped, followed several minutes later by Alex, returning from birding further west. While we were talking, Alex spotted a high soaring light morph Short-tailed Hawk, and we also heard and saw a Northern Waterthrush.
