All,

I'll be giving a talk for the South Florida Travel and Adventure Club this coming Tuesday. It would be humbling to see some TAS faces in the audience.

I'll be presenting Birding on a Shoestring: Misadventures from Ecuador, Peru and Thailand It will be from 7:00-8:30 on 1/27/15 at the Pelican Harbor Marina. Photos of birds (trogons, Hoatzins, Andean Condors, White-bellied Cinclodes and Spoon-billed Sandpipers included), frogs, snakes, Giant River Otters, caimans, capybaras, kinkajous, the Amazon, the Andean mountain range, and Thailand will accompany stories of poor decision-making skills, altitude sickness, my brief stint with malaria, recollections of Bangkok-borne food poisoning and rural hitchhiking all for the sake of birding.

The club is administered by the Jack of All Trades, Chris Boykin of the Pelican Harbor Seabird Station. It will be held in one of the conference rooms at the Pelican Harbor Marina. It begins at 7:00 and ends at 8:30 on Tuesday, 1/27. Bring finger foods, especially if they can be of the Peruvian, Ecuadorian or Thai varieties.
