Seems like you should actually be putting up more feeders. In the past, we tipped the balance by introducing invasive non-natives, like the Eurasian Collared-Dove, and nearly exterminating those magnificent birds of prey. What's happening in your backyard is just the natural way of keeping these unwanted populations in check.
As Georgiana mentioned, unrestrained cats are the real problem. The numbers of birds killed by cats around the country every year would blow most people away. In the tens of millions (not exaggerating)! You can find out for yourself. Keep up the good work and enjoy the predator-prey interactions.
