Rob Pendergast and I birded south FL the past few days. We worked our way down the Atlantic side from GA and are currently working our way up the gulf.
Smooth billed Ani- Take exit 49 going through Alligator Alley and head north on Snake Road for about 6 miles. Park at the pull off just before the the giant Seminole Reservation sign. Pull off is on the right. The Ani was seen on both sides of the road but spent more time on the right side. Heard it calling and saw perching on tops of bushes. Photographed well.
