Hey all,
The dove was seen briefly yesterday morning from roughly 7:10-7:20 am before flying off and was not seen the rest of the day. It was actively feeding on the trail in the open. There was a Sharp-shinned Hawk in the area so it's possible that it moved into some dense undergrowth and remained hidden from everyone. We will still be meeting tomorrow morning in the Deering Estate at Cutler Visitor Center parking lot (16701 Southwest 72nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33157) at 7:15am to begin walking into the park at 7:30am sharp. Please make arrangements to stay on the trail until at least 10am since the park does not officially open until then and there will not be a paybooth attendant to collect the entrance fee of $12 until then.
