How are we ever going to hope to get stuff Pine Siskins, White-throated Sparrows, or Goldeneyes down here. And forget Northern Fulmar and Great Skua. Today's high temp of 82 degrees is 5 degrees higher than the average high for this date, and only 4 degrees away from the record. Tonight's forecast low of 72 is 10 degrees higher than the average low for this date, and 33 degrees hotter than the record low of 39 set in 1973. Does this explain why some winter birds on the Miami-Dade list are no longer seen down here, despite still being common up north? Most of the country is experiencing higher than average temps this December, with no cooling in the near future.
