I birded Everglades National Park yesterday, December 16. As previously reported, there are some interesting ducks at West Lake, including two Greater Scaup. These ducks could be viewed from the boat launching area. Unfortunately, most of the ducks were far out in the open water and could only be viewed by scope from the boardwalk. These ducks included Ruddy, Lesser Scaup and Ring-necked among a bazillion coots. I could not locate the previously reported Canvasback and Redheads. Numerous Green-winged Teal could be found at Mrazek Pond while manatees and crocodile were found at the Flamingo marina.
