We kicked off the CBC season yesterday with perfect weather, fun birds, mighty fine participants, brownies and compilation at Rosita's. The preliminary tally includes 114 species, 17 warbler species, 12 raptor species, 10 shorebird species and good birds such as Virginia Rail, White-tailed Kite, Brown-crested and Scissor-tailed Flycatchers, Western Kingbird, "Eastern" Palm Warbler, American Pipit and Lincoln's Sparrow. (After 6 years of documenting and convincing the FL CBC Reviewer that we always see Yellow-breasted Chats, wouldn't you know it? We couldn't buy one yesterday!)

Despite a wet spring and summer, we had few ducks. Other misses were Limpkin, Snail Kite and Eastern Screech-Owl.

A HUGE SHOUT-OUT OF THANKS TO ALL! You're the BEST!!
