Each adult bird has a unique band combination and the various banding projects use different color flags or alpha numeric flags. Many times chicks from the same clutch will only have "brood markers" which are combinations of a USGS aluminum band and a single band. The plastic bands will have different color dots, indicating the location. If anyone would like to know the band combinations and colors of the Crandon birds, email me offlist.
