I saw my FOS Swallow-tailed Kite yesterday while canoeing the Turner River north of Rt. 41 in the Big Cypress. That's a beautiful paddle, by the way, amid huge virgin cypress with white water lilies blooming everywhere. Lots of big gators, too, of course.
There were four Snail Kites hunting on the north side of Rt. 41 across from the Everglades Tower Inn, just west of Shark Valley. All were males.
The Loop Road was spectacular, as usual. Get thee out there before this perfect season ends.
