Lincoln Road Bats

I was on Lincoln Road last night and saw hundreds of bats flying overhead over the trees going in the same direction (going east). They would fly in groups of up to about 10 or even individually. I have only seen one individual bat (the rare Mastiff in Coral Gables) before in Miami. What is the most likely species? Would appreciate the help.
