Two male and three female hooded mergansers were observed in a restored wetland that is under power lines from NW 102 AVE to NW 107 AVE and theoretical NW 62 ST. The site can be accessed through NW 58 ST and turning onto NW 104 AVE -under construction, as everything else in the area :(
The best way to bird this wetland is by walking/biking the maintenance road under the power lines. Hooded mergansers (could these be the same ones?) stayed at this same location through the winter months until the end of February earlier this year, so hopefully they'll stick around again.
