I, along with 4 Flamingo staff and several visitors saw the flamingo again on the mud flat (re-exposed on a falling tide) in front of the visitor center at around 4 p.m.
Three days earlier, in hopes of checking this bird off on my 2014 list, I paddled all the way from Flamingo to Porpoise Point at the far eastern end of Snake Bight. This was a 6-mile paddle, one way. I then paddled along the north shore of Snake Bight for a mile or so, without seeing any flamingos. Total paddle for the day covered an agonizing 13-14 miles! Three days later a flamingo appears within 50 feet of my office. Go figure!
PS: I saw the flamingo just after clocking out for the day (in case you're wondering, Roger).
