Hi there,
Right off the bet, Marcello says NO to Say's Phoebe at the Morning Star Farms Rd. at Canal Point. There was a very interesting looking Red-tailed Hawk hanging around there that was mostly all white on chest and wings except the wing's edges and head that were brown. Tail was visibly "light red" I think it might have been a "Krider's".
Heard 1 Northern Bobwhite calling out from the sugarcane fields.
Saw 2 beautiful adult Bald Eagles perched and in flight in the area.

55 miles southeast of the area by the Intracoastal area, I saw a couple of Osprey's fishing - "what's the big deal, Marcello"? Okay, the deal was that one of them had an interesting shaped fish that I did not recognize at first because I caught the Osprey from the corner of my eyes. It had a Needlefish in its talons with mouth wide open. I have seen them with a wide selection of fish but my first with a Needlefish. The Osprey had also a metal band on the left ankle that I could not read. Very cool.
Other recent highlights (Johnathan Dickinson State Park)were:
Bachman's Sparrow (gorgeous little one looking very healthy) - have an inspection.
Hairy Woodpecker - single male bird
Red-headed Woodpecker
Chipping Sparrows - 2 of them
Florida Scrub Jay

Back at the Boynton Inlet:
1 Sanderling swallowing a sand flea
1 Peregrine Falcon causing major fright on all shorebirds as they took off in a split second. I did not understand the cause since the bird was coming from behind my back.
1 Immature Northern Gannet being chased by a laughing gull and flying really close to shore but heading north.

Let's hope that with the cold temps bring us something good to report soon!

Marcello
