I don't know if the phoebe was seen east of the Do Not Enter signs (on a gate) but there are active mining operations over there. Yesterday I talked to one of the folks from the mine office. Although interested in the bird, he did express concern about hikers going through their operations on the Florida Trail. They have to meet federal regulations about folks on the property having proper safety equipment (hard hats, etc) so they may be contacting the Florida Trail folks to do something about that part of the trail.
I did not see the phoebe around the around the office area (didn't go anywhere else due to the mining activities).
