That property, including the lake and the strip of land around it, is owned by a private mining company. Whether they will mind somebody walking along the south side of the property is a case of "attempt at your own risk." I've crossed the gate and gone slightly into the property to get a better view of the lake, but never walked very far down the dirt track.
