Got to Barnes this morning at 8:45 to find one birder searching for the flycatcher near Homeless Hammock (I am omitting names because I don't know if folks want to be mentioned). Then two others joined us, and told me another group had just seen the wood thrush.
The two new birders encouraged me to go see the wood thrush, because they had already seen it, so I went over and joined one of my birding gurus north of the platform, but we couldn't find the thrush.
Then I get a call that the flycatcher was spotted and lost at the Hammock.
At least I got some exercise and saw a Scarlet and Summer Tanager with cool Miami birders. Hope that we can see those birds again later, and hope this information is helpful for those still looking!
