Wood Thrush, Brown-crested Flycatcher still at Barnes!

One of the better days at Barnes! The Brown-crested Flycatcher was in the exact same area as last weekend--in the hammock on the left as you enter the park. It seems to stay on the side nearest the road, in the scrubby trees inside the hammock. The Wood Thrush was along the path between the boardwalk and the trail chickee. Also seen in the trees around the chickee was a late Swainson's Thrush.

I had 12 species of warbler, including Tennessee (near the chickee) and Orange-crowned (oaks near the flycatcher spot). Also seen were Summer Tanager, Yellow-throated and White-eyed Vireos (both singing!). In addition to a pair of the resident Cooper's Hawk, there was a Broad-winged Hawk sitting in the pines on the nature trail, and 2 Short-tailed Hawks. The 1st was a light morph soaring WAY up with vultures; however, the 2nd was a dark morph that flew over just over the treetops.

All told, I had 50 species (with parrots) between 7 and 11 am. The list (photos are on eBird):
