There are several ways to enter the nature center area by foot if the vehicular entrance gate is locked. There is a gate, usually unlocked, just north of the park's entrance road; this entrance leads past the elevated boardwalk. Another entrance is on the south side of the Leisure Access Center, which is opposite the park's baseball diamond. If all else fails, you can take the paved path on the north side of the vehicular entrance gate. Past the gate, you'll see a low wooden fence on the left side of the path. Step over the fence and walk in. Obviously, this last entrance is not an option for the physically handicapped.
