This is a very encouraging sighting for me. I've watched that flock of red crowned amazons for a long time. I first saw them in 1987, a mere 22 birds. The flock grew to nearly a hundred, and was a noisy and almost everyday sight for at least 15 years, heading to roost. They vanished 7 or 8 years ago. I was concerned the stray cats had gotten them. They are highly endangered in mexico.
