About a dozen or so birders joined me for a morning walk at AD Barnes to search for fall migrants during this peak of migration. Although there were not tremendous numbers of birds, there was good variety and enough to keep us busy, ending with 42 species
We saw 12 species of warblers, including Tennessee and Cape May, 3 vireos (Red-eyed, White-eyed, and Yellow-throated), 2 orioles (Baltimore & Spot-breasted), 2 tanagers (Scarlet and Summer, including a striking red male), 3 grosbeaks (Cardinal, Rose-breasted, and Blue), plus Painted Bunting and a Merlin harasssed by Blue Jays (see Trey's great photos).
