Green Cay was very busy this Sunday, with more magnolia warblers than I think I've ever seen in one spot. Lots of others mixed in - prairie warblers, black and white warblers, white-eyed vireos, american redstarts, all in good numbers. Also over at Wakodahatchee, American bittern is back since about 2 weeks ago.
I spotted a bird I've not previously seen and had trouble IDing, and on a bird ID board where I posted this, two posters felt it was good for swainson's thrush. Having never seen one before, it would be a new bird for my list, but hoping some here might be able to confirm or deny. Photo attached.
And a mystery raptor was flying extremely high - didn't look right for red-tailed from what I could find, looked large, and I had to shoot at 600mm plus cropped nearly 100%...maybe some might be able to figure out what type it is...I'm linking 4 shots' URLs here:
