Am I the only one that sees a pattern here?

July

So for the entire state, the last 3 months have produced 3 rarities, all in Monroe. No wonder the other FLRBA moderators were commenting that it was a slow summer for rarities in Florida. So far, it s turning out to be a slow fall as well, with very few reports of anything notable throughout the state. I ve also noticed (from my fishing experience) that the weather seems to be much calmer than other years. Not only is our summer major storm activity almost non-existent, but we ve had almost no brisk winds from any direction since May. I don t recall any year with so many days of offshore winds 5-10 kts. Usually, we ve had some E-NE winds of 20 kts by October 1st. Could the lack of weather be a part of the reason why there are few rarities? Is this evidence pointing to a correlation between vagrancy and weather? I know in Eastern Asia (aka St. Lawrence and Aleutians), weather is watched very carefully in anticipation of Asian vagrants. Should we be watching for strong winds from the eastern quadrant for Caribbean vagrants?

Oh, and painted buntings. Just want to make sure I get a reply.
