Hello folks,

Once again it's that time of year where I trade in my quantum physicist cap for a birder's cap and lead what most birders call "South Florida's most...'interesting' birding trip".

Participants usually get wooed by one of the birding community's premier experts...but since Pete Dunne is unavailable this year, you'll have to settle for yours truly.

In past years we've tallied more birders than birds but this year promises to be different - just kidding, we've tallied 100 species on several occasions! Surprise guest appearances are common (Toe may show up with his boat!) We will be targeting rare species like the Phoenix, the Thunderbird, and that wily Mockingjay. This one's got it all folks - birds, birders, drama!

We meet in the Coe Visitor Center parking lot of Everglades National Park; be there at 730AM, I'll get there around 9. Just kidding! Remember that all weapons should be checked here before proceeding. Bring your game-face and see you tomorrow!

Inigo Montoya
