I usually park in the spot mentioned by Rangel. I have seen some of the guys that go fishing there park on the other side of the road on the north side of the canal, but I don't risk it because it is not clear if you can park there or not. It is worth mentioning that most of the trails off the main two-track are overgrown which could be problematic for a youngster. However, you can still see stuff off the main path.
