Today I took some out of town guests to Shark Valley at their request. An early morning tram ride yeilded the following species:

Great Blue Heron
Snowy Egret
Great Egret
Woodstork
White Ibis
Glossy Ibis
Pied-billed Grebe
Anhinga
Double-crested Cormorant
Least Sandpiper
Kildeer
Bald Eagle (No Golden Eagle)
Red-shouldered Hawk
Greater Yellow Legs
Tri-colored Heron
Little Blue Heron
Green Heron
Roseate Spoonbill
Limpkin
Mottled Duck
Black-crowned Night Heron
Yellow-crowned Night Heron
Purple Galinule (known as the Jesus Bird in Australia because it walks on water; also saw an immature Purple Galinule)

Common Moorhen
Brown Pelican
Black Vulture and........Lots and lots of Alligators of all shapes and sizes

Of all the highlights this morning one of the most memorable would be the 4 one week old Anhingas on their nest with the parents very close by; 3 two week old Anhingas, and 3 five week old Anhingas just learning to swim. Very cute. Trey, get out there with your camera!
