Brehan Furfey and I conducted a bird survey this morning at Long Key State Park, which is north of Marathon in the Florida Keys. Among twelve warbler species detected was a stunning Blue-winged Warbler on the nature trail, as well as Prothonotary (1) and Blackburnian Warblers (1). Also of note, Cliff Swallow numbers were the highest they've been all season.

We have been getting high numbers of Blackburnian Warblers this fall. There were eleven just in the vicinity of the Florida Keys Hawkwatch site at Curry Hammock State Park on 9/12/14.
