Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about the Miami Bird Board.
How do I post photos on the Bird Board?
Although the TAS Bird Board is not a photo site, we do allow photos that illustrate a sighting. If there's no report with the photo or photo link it will likely be deleted. If you have a number of photos illustrating your post, please put them on a separate web page and use a link.
To post a photo, you must first place the photo on a web page. You can use a service such as photobucket or flickr, or your internet account may already include a web page.
You can only post images in jpg, gif, or png format (no tiffs, no raw files, etc). Once you have uploaded your photo to a web page, you can use the "Optional Image URL" to add it (one only) to your posting. Simply type in the complete internet address (URL) of your photo. E.g., http://jboyd.net/Birds/IMG_5007.jpg. When you submit your post, the photo should appear. Note that the image URL must be an image file, not a directory or html file.
Sites like flickr which normally show a web page containing the photo rather than the bare photo are best posted as a link, not a photo. Indeed, flickr will not permit you to include your photo in your post.
Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
Sorry, but no. You can not use HTML tags in your posts.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.
Where can I get the scripts for this program?
The scripts are written in Perl and are based on those of the nms project.
